Inna Kristianne Beza Palacios is a highly skilled Filipino footballer who currently serves as the goalkeeper for the Philippines women’s national team. Palacios’ journey in football began at a young age when she joined her school’s football team at grade 4 and went on to win multiple MVP awards and tournaments at Colegio de San Agustin-Makati. Before settling in as a goalkeeper, Palacios experimented with different positions, including forward, winger, and defender, showcasing her versatility on the field.

Palacios then pursued her studies at De La Salle University and joined their varsity team, where she caught the eye of renowned coach Hans Smit during her stint with the national team in 2012. Despite facing challenges in her rookie year, including the loss of her grandmother while representing the national team abroad and recovering from a recurring injury, Palacios overcame these obstacles with the support of her coach and regained her form.

Establishing herself as the first-choice goalkeeper for her varsity team, Palacios went on to receive the prestigious best goalkeeper award at UAAP Season 75 and UAAP Season 77 in 2013 and 2015 respectively. She even scored a goal in her final game for De La Salle, showcasing her skill and determination on the field. In 2022, Palacios joined Kaya F.C. and played a pivotal role in the club’s victory at the SingaCup in Singapore, further solidifying her reputation as a top-class goalkeeper.

Palacios’ talent and dedication have also been recognized on the national stage. She was called up to play for the Philippine under-16 national team at the age of 13 in 2007 and has since been a consistent member of the senior national team. She helped the Philippines qualify for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup, including a crucial draw with Bahrain, and participated in the 2020 Summer Olympics Asian qualifiers where the team successfully progressed from the first round. Palacios’ contributions to the national team have been invaluable, showcasing her skill, determination, and commitment to the sport of football.
