Following the footsteps of his father, Ray is a Filipino-American professional basketball player who is currently playing in the Japan B-League for the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins.
His athlete career in the Philippines began when he played for the NU Bulldogs in 2011. During his first season with the Bulldogs in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), he won the MVP award. He was named the Most Valuable Player for season 75.
Ray became the second Filipino to be drafted in the NBA D-League. On November 18, 2016, he officially joined Alab Pilipinas of the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) and was once again named the MVP.
Ray was part of the team that represented the Philippines in the 2017 Southeast Asian Games.They won the gold medal after beating Indonesia and won his 3rd SEA Games Gold medal in the process.
